Our Projects
Export packaging of production line for sea and road transport
We completed a complex export packaging project for a complete production line in Goleniów, for sea and road transport, for a UK client. The project included comprehensive protection of machinery and equipment using a variety of packaging methods, including VCI anti-corrosion film and 25 specialised openwork transport crates. Based on the list of equipment provided, along with their dimensional and weight specifications, the Danpol team individually selected the most suitable packaging solutions to ensure maximum protection during international transport.
Scope of service provided:
Description of the implementation of the order:
Needs analysis and packaging design
The first stage of the project was a detailed familiarisation with the list of machines, their dimensions and weights. Based on this data, Danpol specialists designed 25 openwork transport crates and additional solid crates, tailored to the specifics of the individual elements of the production line. Each crate was designed taking into account IPPC standards and the requirements of sea and road transport, which ensured full compliance with international phytosanitary regulations.
Production of transport boxes
All boxes were made of certified dry softwood, according to ISPM15 standards. The openwork structures ensured adequate ventilation while maintaining high mechanical strength. Solid boxes, made of the same grade of wood and AW100 grade waterproof plywood, guaranteed maximum protection for the most sensitive components of the production line.
Multi-layer protection against moisture and corrosion
Line components were protected in multiple stages – first using a bubble film to protect against mechanical damage, followed by the application of a VCI anti-corrosion film with volatile corrosion inhibitors. Moisture absorbers were placed inside each box to minimise the risk of condensation and protect metal components from corrosion during sea transport.
Shrink-wrapping and load restraint
The transport boxes were additionally protected with heat-shrinkable foil, which after shrinking provided excellent protection against atmospheric agents. Each component was securely fastened inside the boxes using specialised fixings, which prevented the load from moving during transport. Professional Cordlash straps were used to secure the whole to the ground.
Marking and preparation of transport documentation
Appropriate transport markings, in line with international standards, were placed on each box. The markings included information on dimensions, weight and specific requirements when handling the load.
