Our Projects
Packaging of large industrial equipment in shrink film
We carried out comprehensive export packing of an exceptionally large industrial device for the company T.T. Urbanowicz. The project involved securing for road transport a highly specialised piece of equipment with impressive dimensions – 24 metres long and weighing 45 tonnes. The realisation required a precise approach and the application of advanced packaging techniques using heat-shrinkable film, which ensured full protection from adverse weather conditions and mechanical damage during transport.
Scope of service provided:
Description of the implementation of the order:
Preparation of the cargo surface
The surface of the entire unit was thoroughly cleaned and degreased to ensure proper adhesion of the shrink film. In addition, information markings were attached to indicate the gravity points and lifting locations.
Protection of sensitive components from direct contact with the film
All sensitive points and parts of the device that could be damaged during the film shrinking process were carefully protected. A protective layer of buffer materials was used to protect sharp edges and protruding parts. Electronic components, connectors and control panels were given additional protection against potential mechanical damage and the effects of humidity.
Application and shrink film process
The unit was carefully wrapped with a high-quality 230 micron shrink film, which is standard in our company for loads transported on open trailers. The film application was carried out in stages, taking into account the difficult access to some parts due to the dimensions of the load. Once the entire unit was completely wrapped, the team proceeded to shrink the film using specialised heaters, ensuring that the film conformed perfectly to the shape of the packaged object
Ensuring weather tightness and resistance
Particular attention was paid to the execution of airtight seams and connections between individual sheets of film, which is crucial to ensure full protection against moisture and other atmospheric factors. Danpol’s specialists applied the technique of double sealing in critical places to guarantee maximum package tightness, which is particularly important for cargo transported overland
Placing of transport markings
The final step in the process was to apply the necessary transport markings to the outer layer of the film. The markings were made in accordance with international transport regulations and included information on dimensions, weight and special instructions for handling the load. This solution not only meets legal requirements, but also significantly facilitates the identification and proper handling of the consignment throughout the transport process
