Packaging of an industrial layout for sea transport for a customer realising a machine for Siemens Energy

In October 2025, Danpol carried out another professional export packing of a large industrial layout for shipping. Two heavy-duty transport boxes, including one oversized box, were made for the client, who manufactured the line for Siemens Energy. The efficiency and repeatability of this type of project means that Danpol’s realisations for this type of solution are already taking place on a cyclical basis – several more orders are expected by the end of the year.

Scope of service provided:

  • Design and manufacture of two transport boxes – including one very large one to suit the layout requirements of 11600x3440x3950mm
  • Protection of the entire system with VCI corrosion protection film
  • Securing the load to the platform of the box with Cordlash straps and lumber blocks
  • Making four holes at the layout lifting ears to allow the chain to be passed from the lower fixings to the layout ears. Each hole is protected by a plywood slider, which effectively protects against water ingress and weathering
  • In addition, a substructure was made for the fan due to stabilisation and vibration protection requirements.

Description of the implementation of the order:

Design and manufacture of cases according to customer requirements

The Danpol team designed and manufactured two transport boxes – including an oversized one measuring 11600x3440x3950mm – according to the needs and dimensions of the industrial layout. Four small holes were made at the lifting ears for convenient chain transfer. Each hole was secured with a plywood bolt to prevent water from entering.

Protection of the system with VCI corrosion protection film

The entire system and components exposed to marine conditions are coated with a VCI anti-corrosion film with volatile corrosion inhibitors. Such protection significantly extends the components’ resistance to corrosion and the effects of moisture during transport and storage.

Fixation and stabilisation in the box

All components were restrained directly to the box platform, using Cordlash straps and timber blocking only. An additional substructure was made only for the fan, which required specialised protection against vibration and movement.

Access openings for handling transport

In line with the fixing process, dedicated holes were prepared in the box, allowing the driver to pass and fix the chain from the floor to the lifting eye of the system. All holes were secured with bolts to keep out water and debris.
