Export packaging of the Fera XL washing machine for sea transport

As part of an order for a customer from Tczew, we carried out comprehensive export packing of a large Fera XL washing machine for sea transport. The entire process involved not only the manufacture and preparation of a customised IPPC transport crate, but also multi-stage corrosion protection and immobilisation of the cargo in accordance with the highest industry standards. The realisation ensured the complete safety of the device during long-term transport and storage.

Scope of service provided:

  • Construction of an IPPC transport box with dimensions 7500x4200x3150 mm
  • Packaging of the machine in VCI corrosion protection film
  • Use of moisture absorbers
  • Application of corrosion protection capsules
  • Secured to the ground with Cordlash straps
  • Load restraint and anti-slip protection
  • Printing transport markings on the box
  • Installation of tarpaulin and vapour-proof membrane

Description of the implementation of the order:

Embedding the packaging machine

The machine was placed on a specially prepared, solid wooden base, ensuring stability and even weight distribution during the subsequent securing stages.

Corrosion protection – VCI film, capsules and moisture absorbers

The machine has been carefully wrapped with VCI anti-corrosion film, which, thanks to volatile corrosion inhibitors, forms an invisible protective layer on the metal surface, effectively protecting the unit during transport and storage. In addition, anti-corrosion capsules and moisture absorbers are arranged inside the packaging, significantly reducing the risk of condensation and corrosion formation during the sea voyage.

Immobilisation and stabilisation of the load

After corrosion protection, the machine and its ancillary components were secured to the base with heavy-duty Cordlash straps. The use of these straps guarantees full stability and protection against displacement even during violent transport manoeuvres or adverse conditions at sea.

Locking in the transport box and labelling

The final step was to enclose the entire cargo in a robust, made-to-measure plywood transport crate, compliant with the IPPC standard, which allows safe international transport and meets phytosanitary requirements.

The box is protected from the inside by a vapour-permeable foil and from the top by a tarpaulin, which provides protection against atmospheric and mechanical influences, while at the same time allowing the cargo to “breathe”, reducing the risk of condensation inside the packaging.

All required transport markings have been applied to the surface of the box to facilitate identification and handling during handling.
