Our Projects
Packing an injection moulding machine for road transport
We carried out a comprehensive protection and export packaging service for an injection moulding machine. The project included specialised protection of the machine against corrosion, moisture and mechanical damage during road transport.
Scope of service provided:
Description of the implementation of the order:
Design and construction of wooden platforms
The basis of the realisation was the design of platforms adapted to the weight and dimensions of the injection moulding machine. Our team used IPPC-certified coniferous timber, ensuring strength and compliance with ISPM 15 phytosanitary standards. The platforms were reinforced with crossbars and their surface was profiled for even load distribution.
Multi-layer corrosion protection
The machine was wrapped with bubble wrap on the protruding parts. In addition, VCI film was used, creating an airtight barrier against moisture and salts. The volatile corrosion inhibitors in the VCI film formed a hydrophobic layer on the metal surface, neutralising the effect of water vapour.
Moisture control and sealing
Moisture absorbers were placed in the packaging to reduce the risk of condensation. The whole package was protected with shrink film, which, when heated, tightly wrapped the load, protecting it from dirt and mechanical damage.
Stabilisation on the platforms with the Cordlash system
The injector is attached to the platforms using Cordlash straps, which – unlike traditional straps – retain their tension even under dynamic shocks. Pneumatic tensioners and edge protectors are used, eliminating the risk of abrasion of the belts. The strength of the Cordlash system (up to 2500 daN) has ensured that the machine is fully stabilised.
Loading and immobilisation on a trailer
The platforms with the injection moulding machine were attached to the semi-trailer using steel cables and anti-flat brackets. In addition, wooden blocking devices were fitted to prevent the load from shifting during braking. The whole thing was inspected for compliance with road transport regulations.
