Our Projects
Packaging of LG Electronics machine for sea transport
Danpol was asked by LG Electronics to prepare one SMT inspection machine ( Zenith S model) for the sea route from the factory in Mława. Due to the machine’s high value, sensitive optics and long transit time, multi-layer protection against moisture, corrosion and mechanical damage was required, in accordance with HPE standards and shipping line guidelines.
Scope of service provided:
Description of the implementation of the order:
1. design and construction of customised wooden packaging
Based on the specifications of the machine and the requirements of shipping, Danpol specialists designed and manufactured a solid wooden platform and a plywood transport box with dimensions of 1350x2020x1850 mm. All elements were made of certified wood compliant with the IPPC standard, ensuring safety and compliance with international phytosanitary regulations.
2. Preparation of cargo for packaging and mechanical protection
The machine was precisely positioned on the platform and then immobilised and secured against movement during transport. Additional stabilising elements provided protection against shock and mechanical damage during loading and transport.
3. protection with bubble wrap and moisture absorbers
To protect against mechanical damage and the effects of moisture, the machine is tightly wrapped in bubble wrap and moisture absorbers are placed inside the packaging. This solution minimises the risk of condensation and corrosion during prolonged sea transport.
Packing in VCI corrosion protection film and vacuum packing in ALU barrier film
The next step was the application of a VCI anti-corrosion film with volatile corrosion inhibitors, which effectively protects the metal components of the machine from corrosion. This was followed by vacuum packaging in an ALU barrier film, ensuring a full seal and protection against moisture and contamination.
5. final protection with stretch film and preparation for dispatch
Finally, the whole thing was wrapped in stretch film, which further protected the cargo from external influences and ensured the integrity of the packaging during transport and handling, and the walls and lid of the transport box were built up.
