Our Projects
Packaging of control cabinets for air transport
We realised the precision export packaging of two control cabinets for a client, preparing them for air transport. The realisation took into account both corrosion protection requirements and advanced systems for monitoring conditions during the flight.
Scope of service provided:
Description of the implementation of the order:
Design of IPPC transport boxes
The boxes are made of ISPM 15-compliant certified softwood and their dimensions (1780 x 2270 x 900 mm) are tailored to the dimensions of the control cabinets, ensuring minimal air space. They were reinforced with spacer bars to increase resistance to pressure during flight.
Multi-layer corrosion protection
The cabinets were wrapped in a VCI film with volatile corrosion inhibitors, creating a hydrophobic layer on the metal components. In addition, a bubble film with VCI was used to absorb shock and neutralise moisture. Moisture absorbers and anti-corrosion capsules were placed inside the boxes to maintain the concentration of inhibitors throughout the transport.
Stabilisation and mechanical protection
The cargo was secured to the ground with Cordlash straps to eliminate loosening during turbulence. Wooden spacer blocks and wedges prevented the cabinets from moving. Each box was fitted with tilt sensors (monitoring tilt up to 45°) and shock sensors to register overloads above 3G.
Preparation for air transport
A UV-resistant plastic tarpaulin was applied to the boxes to protect them from rain and mechanical damage. A vapour-permeable film was fitted, allowing air to circulate without the risk of condensation. IATA-compliant pictograms were printed on the crates to facilitate the safe handling of cargo.
