Packaging of the dosing system controller for sea transport
Danpol carried out a specialist export packaging service for Cobe S.C. The subject of protection was a precision controller for a dispensing system that was to be transported by sea. Due to the high value and sensitivity of the device, a comprehensive set of protections was applied: from anti-corrosion film, through protective capsules, to vacuum packing and shock sensors.
Scope of service provided:
Description of the implementation of the order:
Preparation and protection of the device against mechanical damage
The dispensing system controller was first protected with bubble wrap, which provided protection against shocks and impacts during handling and transport. Particular attention was paid to sensitive and protruding components, minimising the risk of mechanical damage.
Corrosion and moisture protection
The next step was to wrap the device in VCI anti-corrosion film, which effectively protects metal components from oxidation thanks to volatile corrosion inhibitors. Moisture absorbers and anti-corrosion capsules were placed inside the packaging to provide long-lasting protection against the damaging effects of moisture and weather during sea transport.
Vacuum packaging and the use of ALU barrier film
The device is additionally vacuum-packed using ALU barrier film, which guarantees airtightness and insulation from the environment. This method of packaging is particularly recommended for electronic and precision devices, providing them with complete protection against moisture, temperature fluctuations and contamination.
Construction of a dedicated transport box and installation of additional security features
A wooden transport crate was designed and manufactured for the controller from certified IPPC-compliant wood, which guarantees compliance with international phytosanitary standards. The interior of the crate was lined with a vapour-permeable film on the walls and a tarpaulin on the lid. In addition, shock sensors were fitted to monitor any impacts during transport.
Finalisation of packaging and preparation for dispatch
Appropriate transport markings were affixed to the box in accordance with the requirements of shipping. Once all the protection stages were completed, a quality control check was carried out, verifying the tightness of the packaging, the completeness of the corrosion protection and the correctness of the installation of the sensors. The finished cargo was passed on for further sea transport, ensuring that the device was fully protected at every stage of the journey
